Cons: 1. The printer at the club lounge in Overlook has not been working since I moved in. I talked to the staff about this like multiple times and they promised to contact IT people, but it's been a while and the printer's still not fixed. I don't see why it's taking so long. I have many complaints about Gables Emory Point and their staff working in the leasing office. 1) Parking was recently changed and it is a disaster. Residents are only allowed 5 guest passes and then we must start paying for them. You can also get 2 day guest passes that you can “check-out” from the leasing office, but it is a first come first serve basis. Just had our second call with management regarding a wrecked vehicle in the handicap parking spot. The vehicle wrecked by coming in the wrong way of the garage entrance and became disabled. With the management on scene of the accident and with their “approval”, the disabled car “parked” in the lone handicap spot accessible to our apartment. The driver violated all rules of EP and the law by parking a disabled led vehicle in the parking garage and in a handicap parking zone. I agree with everything that has been said about management. They are helpful in the beginning but became rude once you've signed. Many penalty charges with insufficient warnings. whenever you talk to them make sure you get their names and also a written proof. Without it, they will simply deny whatever they said previously. Very unprofessional and incompetent team. There are way better places within 5-10 minute radius.
The housing they provide is very nice, and the service that they provide after you move in is good as well. My issue is with some of their inflexible payment terms. They will not allow payment by check unless it’s a money order or cashiers check. They will not allow two people to pay rent in separate checks even though many of their renters are roommates. They have very strict rules about move-in dates and if you are a day or two late in making that payment they will raise the rent on the entire lease. This inflexibility is ... read more
Deceptive lease practices never sent me a notice to resign my lease, so had to pay out. Payed a downpayment application fee which is NOT a deposit. Snakes who take advantage of good location and a nice apt.
