Misdiagnosed me. I went in to Bayside ER because I was having horrible pain in my flank. I said I believe it was a kidney infection or something to do with my kidney. I had just finished antibiotics for a UTI and he said my urine was clear (I checked my results later on mychart and it wasn’t). Ignored my concerns about the pain I had and said it may be chlamydia and we could do a pelvic exam, I refused and he didn’t offer any other tests so I went home that night. Took my mother to SPAH ED initially for chest pain radiating to her jaw and behind her right breast, on the way to the hospital she felt tingling on her right side and on her face, working on a stoke unit myself, I ask her to look at me and smile and her face was completely asymmetrical. When we go to the ED, two techs assisted her into a wheelchair because she had right sided weakness and couldnt walk. I usually go to this particular ER (Sentara Independence), but last night, after suffering from an anaphylactic shock and 2 epi pen shots, the nurses run the protocol of steroids, Benadryl, and pepcid. When the MD comes in, he gives me this look and tells me (straight up), “why are you holding a bag to your face?” While I was gagging! I wanted to tell him, “why don’t you go into shock?” When he checked my throat for swelling, he informed the staff that I showed no signs of even having a shock! Excuse me? By far the WORST physician. Dr. Edwin W. at Sentara Princess Anne Emergency room violated HIPPA ( my patient right to privacy) he is horrible!!! A grievance has been filed against this doctor. He has no bedside manners what so ever and does not care about the patient.
