Reluctantly 1 star, as the staff I saw at Chambers St on a Sunday were exceptional, from front desk through to the doctor. I called back a few days later to the worst service I've had in my life though. Then I went to their website to find someone to complain to, as I'd rather address it with them than write a bad review. A Google finds a page on their site saying to email steve at emcny dot com, which I do (the founder) and the email bounces. His LinkedIn, linked to, is also not found. I was very ill this week and walk past this facility on a daily basis. On the outside of their window they have an advertisement that says they are open 24/7. I woke up at 5a and needed attention, so I decided to call there before walking over. Their voicemail said they were open 7-12a. I went in around 10a and the woman at the counter did not greet me, instead proceeded to tell me that they do not accept insurance and do I want to pay to be seen. I was immediately taken back. I can honestly say that the The Emergency Medical Care on West 42nd st between 10th Ave & 11th Avenue are non compassionate, and it should be renamed as #EmergencyToGetMoneyInMyPockets. I came by on Mon Dec 5th, desperate to get help from a severe allergic reaction from a restaurant next door and my throat was closing up...The nurse and doctor present were very laid back, and their exact words ..it will cost you $250 upfront & you fill out the paper work......this all while Im going through a aniphlestic shock...I just walke... read more
Absolutely amazing staff, Doctor, and nurses!! I just moved here from Tennessee and the second day here in NYC I developed a terrible abscess on my left bicep. My abscess had to be cut open, drained, and packed. I've had to go back everyday for them to check my wound, and have them unpack and repack it. With the abscess I was feeling very badly between the pain and my high fevers. Dr. Okhravi and his nurses have taken AMAZING care of me, and shown general concern.
