I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Laredo, Texas, over the Fourth of July holiday, and I had an excellent experience. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional from check-in to check-out. The hotel was very clean, well-maintained, and appeared to be modern and refreshed. My room was comfortable, and despite staying during a busy holiday weekend, it was very quiet. I slept great and didn’t hear any noise. Embassy Suites recently started charging for parking, which was free for as long as I can remember. I’m not sure what additional service or value the $7 per night parking fee provides. Simply allowing guests to park without being towed doesn’t seem like enough justification. Having 24/7 parking lot security, for example, would add value, but I didn’t see any security personnel during my stay. Other than the new parking fee, the experience was great. This hotel has been top choice until now. Not according to loyalty customer anymore. Not sure what’s going on but usually happens with new ownership. They had me going up and down because the room keys never worked. They kept blaming magnets and maybe close to the phone when I didn’t even had a phone on me. They shut down second elevator so I had to wait forever. I asked for a manager to call me and nothing. I get back to the room after a long day in hot weather and there’s no water until the next morning. Just wow!

You cannot lower room temps lower than 68 degrees which makes for a restless night of sleep & hot while 4 people are trying to get ready. We asked for 2 fans which made the rooms tolerable. Happy hour food had dead flies on the dish setup. Swimming pool area had an odor & water was very “cloudy.” We had 2 unhappy kiddos. Kitchenette set up in the room was nice. Hot water was great!
