Upon arrival I immediately noticed that the property is undergoing construction. After entering my assigned room, I noticed a strong, unpleasant odor(possibly mold)and found the room to be unclean and not in an acceptable condition for a paying hotel guest. 0/10 Wouldn’t recommend. I’ll be escalating this issue further.
Older hotel undergoing renovations. Everything was good except the front desk. Did not answer phone first time I called. Called later and someone finally answered, but immediately put me on hold. After several minutes on hold I tried using chat message. I got a response, but it was incomplete. Called a 3rd time and spoke with a human being, but she could not answer even basic questions - so put me on hold again. Ugh! I gave up. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!) THE LOCATION IS WONDERFUL. BUT THE HOTEL IS RUNDOWN, IN THE PROCESS OF A VERY DISORGANIZED RENOVATION. ELEVATORS EITHER DO NOT WORK OR DO NOT WORK EFFICIENTLY. HOLE IN THE CEILING SO THAT WHEN IT RAINS, THEY HAVE BUCKETS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ATRIUM TO CATCH THE WATER AIR-CONDITIONING DID NOT WORK WHILE I WAS THERE NO ICE MACHINES ON THE FLOORS WAS BOOKED FOR A THREE DAY STAY AFTER THE FIRST NIGHT I CHECKED OUT TO GO TO A DIFFERENT HOTEL. Never again! This place will try to steal your money. They play games with reservations and cancelling them.
Be careful booking with this company. They will allow you book your room under the false pretense that you have to cancel your room in a 7 day period however place the date prior to your reservation date so you can't cancel it! I used to love the hotel in Downers Grove, IL but I will no longer use the company due to Livonia, MI.
