Like a true diner, we serve homemade food and breakfast all the time. We have comfy booths, as well as tables, and lots of high chairs and boosters for the little ones! We are a gathering place where locals are sure to see someone they know and visitors are likely to make new friends. We're a community restaurant both in the sense that we are a local favorite and in the sense that we strive to be good neighbors and give back to our community

While I was expecting typical diner foods, I was pleased with how well they cook their potatoes; and they offer smears and locks on their menu. I also pooped in their bathroom, 10/10 would visit again.
The food is quite decent, but for me the problem has been speed of service. I've been here a few times and simply never had good or timely service. I can forgive slow service when an establishment is very busy, and Elmo's gets VERY busy, but I've been there when it was slower and the waitstaff I've had have showed little interest in my party once our order is taken. My friends love it there, so I'm sure I'll be back.
What an awesome place to eat! Very quaint. . The Elmo burger rocks. Wish y'all had one in High Point. Will definitely be back when I'm in Carrboro :)

Easily the worst experience I've ever had. Especially because it wasn't an experience at all. My wife and I were seated and a woman was over to get our drink orders. She arrived with our drinks shortly after. From there, nothing happened. No drink refill, no waitress at all. After a half hour of zero acknowledgement we told the hostess to have someone pick up our menus and coffee cups and we left. Not once did anyone give offer refills to give us a chance to ask where our waitress was. Total waste of time!!!
One of our favorite places to eat when we visit our family in Hillsborough. Warm and friendly staff that goes above and beyond. Great "comfort" food, just an all round fun and good place to eat.
Great food, relaxing atmosphere and 5 star service. Will make it a regular stop when coming through Chapel Hill.
Great food, awesome atmosphere. Mexican burrito, spicy , was great; ham and cheese quiche great. Cook's momma forgot to tell him grits are not cereal, floating in liquid. Grits should be creamy, luxurious and semi-solid. The patio was warm and toasty early this morning.
New to the area and love Elmo's.. It's a great atmosphere, delicious food and always can accommodate my gluten free needs. Love this place!
