Elliston's owner hasn't changed the restaurant much since its opening in 1950s. The great food and service that made this famous also remain the same. Burgers and shakes are the standard here, but you can also get a good 'meat-and-three' meal as well. While this Nashville landmark was made famous by the movie, "Sweet Dreams: The Patsy Cline Story" starring Jessica Lange, its popularity with downtown workers and Vanderbilt University students is attributed mainly to its casual atmosphere and delicious food.

My girlfriend and I went on Valentines Day. It was busy when we arrived but thinned out as we waited and waited for service. The food was good and they had Valentine favors (stickers and a plastic heart ring) that they handed out with the meals. We've been before. The service is always slow. There's no since of urgency and it's always understaffed. The food is always good though and the staff is polite if not sprightly. Go for the milk shakes.
Had the patty melt with an egg. Flavor was delicious but the hamburger was on the small side surrounded by a lot of bread. Fries were the bomb, hot and not too salty. Unfortunately I was too full for dessert. Some parts of the diner I think are still from the '30's but food was good.
The cook's were on point. Food was fabulous. Banana pudding was yummy !
The staff was extremely friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed my grilled peanut butter and banana sandwich.
We were very disappointed with our West End Omelets. Mine wasn't completely cooked and still runny. The waitress wasn't at all friendly. We tried to visit with her some but just walked away. She was much nicer to the locals eating there. The atmosphere was nice! I liked the old time soda fountain with the bar stools and the booths with the jukeboxes. I thought five and a half dollars was a lot of money for a shake! This place is not on our. List of places to revisit.😞
Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere . Will be going back !!
Awesome! A "must" restaurant in Nashville! Excellent everything; food, service, atmosphere...
