Absolute gem of a place with amazing owner, Lark, whose warmth just makes you relax the instant you meet her. Great cabin (we stayed in #6), amazing views, easy access to paddleboard, dog friendly to boot! Didn’t get to go riding this time but plan to next visit. All the staff were friendly and helpful and Covid-aware. Will definitely be back and already cherishing the great memories made this trip! ❤️
I would definitely recommend Elk Point Lodge. Lark was great and did everything to make us feel comfortable. The views are BEAUTIFUL! 😍 The cabins are cute and beds are comfy! We did horseback riding and our guide was great. I would recommend going grocery shopping before getting to cabins because it’s quite a drive and the smaller shops are quite expensive. Our stay was relaxing and much needed! We will definitely be back.
Love this place!! Beautiful corner of the world with lots of fun outdoor activities! Enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding right out our door. Had a great horseback trail ride with Beth. Lark was very friendly and accommodating. Leaving today and can’t wait to come back with my kids!!!

Elk Point Lodge at Vallecito Lake. I called this place a month ago to make reservations. The owner, Lark, was well aware that we were traveling with our puppy. The website DOES state that the cabins are pet friendly. This should NOT have been much of a surprise to her. When I arrived at the cabin, at 7 pm, she was completely surprised that I had Dash with me. She made me feel REALLY uncomfortable and unwanted. The way that we run our business over the years is that our primary concern is the well-being and comfort of our customers . This client emphasized that her daughter was extremely upset because a mouse had appeared and run across the floor. We felt that if this was the case, combined with the attitude of this client that the kindest thing we could do was to offer to refund the money in full and assist her in making reservations elsewhere. This place is a great place to stay with kids!
we did horseback riding and the trail guides were extremely helpful and friendly. we had out 11 and 9 year old daughters with us too, it was a wonderful experience.
Beautiful. Cabins are clean and beautifully maintained. loved the horse back ride. Wonderful people.
