Basing this off of two visits - one a few years ago (2012 maybe ?) was perfect - visited today and it was a different experience - service was so slow - waited 20 minutes two separate times for two beers and also waited more than 20 minutes after waiting for the server to come over and ask if we were ready for our check - disappointing - food was great though

Best beer bar around. As to the incident related to the beer being taken away from a customer in the waiting area, that person had come into the bar with a can of beer from outside. They don't sell canned beer at Eli's so it was pretty obvious. The patron wasn't in any way cooperative with giving it up. If you don't play nice, don't expect to be treated nice. Jim and Carl are fixtures.
The food and beer selection were amazing! It was my first time there last night and I had an interesting experience. Some regulars and friends of the owner decided it was ok to rip a beer out of a paying customers hand and cause a scene in the waiting area, then they thought it was ok to make comments about my conversation i was having with 2 young men, they took it a step up and started making comments about the young mens sexual preference, I had to leave and couldn't finish my wings because i was disgusted that people sti... read more
Service has always been slow, food is usually better. Beer is good. Sadly, i probably won’t return to one of my old favorite places
Eli Cannon's Tap Room is my absolute favorite place to go. It is perfect any time of year (but let's be honest, nothing beats that backyard hangout). The food is phenomenally good and the beers are plentiful. I've been going there since the 90's and have marked my memories in chalk, drew in the sand and worn the beads....and drank thousands of ounces of beer.
Eli's is how is should be. If you can't hang here, work on yourself and come back after you find out what a fun beer bar is all about! Eaten there 'bout a hundred times, 99five stars, 1four star. Every beer I've had there (and I started coming 3 months after they opened) has been served perfectly. All of them. I wish the place was bigger ... And then again I don't. Prob the best pub to go to in Middletown and the neighboring towns. It is small and has character.
Wings are great. Plenty of beer options. Cool decor. Would be a higher score but, the Sunday bartender seems to have better things to do. He'll get to you eventually. If he notices you.
