Not Worth the Money – I've read countless reviews on how the chef is a genius. Genius he may be but with a high-priced pre-fix menu and portions that were fit for a toddler, I left 11 Madison disappointed. $350 lighter (on a dinner for two), I had 2 rounds of drinks, 2 ports, the lobster pre-fix and veal pre-fix. The lobster was very good but tiny; the whole portion fit into a baby's palm and if you don't believe me, you should check out the restaurant yourself. The veal entree was no bigger with a veal portion that was abou... read more

Impeccable service; superb food! – The service at this restaurant is effortlessly excellent. They don't try too hard and are not pretentious and patronizing either. They make you feel important & are friendly without being intrusive. The food is excellent---lots of attention to detail. I have been here twice for business dinners and once for a personal dinner and it was great each time. The crowd is not hip or happening but understated...some "foodies".

IMPECCABLE SERVICE – There is a reason this restaurant continues to be a New York classic. The staff is amazing, knowledgable, and unpretentious while still managing to project the decadence of the restaraunt. Daniel Humm is the esteemed new chef and came out to introduce himself at the end of the meal which really made the night. He also sent each of us home with a breakfast brioche. As for the food, obviously excellent - one recommendation - even if you're craving sweet give the cheese plate a try at the end of the meal it... read more

One of most innovative chefs in the US – I admit to being a major Daniel Humm fan--I would go to Campton Place in SF when he was there every time I was in SF. I visited Eleven Madison for the first time and he has elevated his game for NYC. The amuse bouce offerings were great--each one a taste to remember. I had the farm egg with caviar followed by a lobster dish with a great foam as you expect from Chef Humm. I was alone and had wines by the glass--a good selection if a bit expensive for their quality. Overall, a great mea... read more

Incredible Dining Experience – This is one of the best meals that I have had in a while. The place is gorgeous. With the high ceilings and the beautiful flowers. Plenty of space between tables so that you dont feel people are on top of each other. The service is attentive withought being overbearing or stuck up. The food consists of well thought out paring of flavors. It is typical that people will complain about the portions. Its not about the huge burger here - not b@ng for your buck. Its about the quality, presentation an... read more

What happened? – The first time I went here, I loved it. Booked a reservation of Valentine's day and they were out of seafood. Granted I had a late timeslot but still, they should have planned better. When I went back last month, they had switched the menu to prefix without noting it when I made the reservation. The food is good and inventive but not worth the price. There are much better places to spend your money if youre looking to visit a nice restaurant.

Deal-makers and trip-takers feel equally at home at the New American queen bee of Danny Meyer's food empire. – Located in a former bank in the MetLife building, the cavernous space mixes art deco loftiness with warm, natural touches. The high ceiling, grand lanterns and zigzag motifs are softened with comfy black leather furniture, leaf-patterned insets and shrubbery that seems to pull Madison Park right in through the soaring windows. Service is efficient and knowledgeable without a trace of snootiness. Chef Daniel Humm occ... read more

Avoid it if you're actually hungry – just reflecting on my lunch: i had two small pieces of bread i tablespoon of seafood salad approx 2 ounces of veal with about an ounce of potato and 1/2 of a carrot and about three ounces of mousee type stuff so i really had a toddler "lunchable" (the equivalent of a half of a tuna sandwich on wheat, a slimjim, 3 veggie chips and a kids sized pudding and a half of one grape juicebox), all for about $1 per calorie.

Worth at least one visit – Dining here is an experience, albeit a very, very expensive experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful -- very spacious with high ceilings, but not in a way that makes you feel isolated. The staff is attentive and knowledgable, but not a way that is intimidating. The food is beautifully presented and very, very creative. My friend ordered a halibut that had been slow-cooked in a 150 degree oven, and it was the most tender halibut I'd ever tasted. The portions are small, but they provided an amu... read more
