I called this guy, told him my alternator was gone and asked him if he rebuilt them. He said yes and mumbled something about a wire that is commonly bad in alternators of my model; that it would be \$75-\$130. I was given the impression that the ALTERNATOR would be fixed. I found later that this is true of OLDER models in which this wire is located ON the alternator, unlike mine which attaches to it.
