If I could give 0 starts I would. Never send a loved one here. Ever. Takes forever to answer a red button call. Soiled clothes thrown on clean clothes. Feces on bed. Didn't even clean it immediately after they were notified by me. Mom fell in bathroom day 2, they didn't tell me. Her roommate told me. Skilled nursing facilities have greatly declined since COVID. Elderwood at Wheatfield is still one of the better ones in Niagara County. Good and reliable help is hard to find and the turnover rate recently has become a problem.
This place is absolutely disgusting and a disgrace to health care. My family and many others spend a fortune on a place that doesn’t care about their residents, serves in edible food, and allows residents to go to the hospital due to straight neglect of the care givers. My family member ended up in the hospital due to their lack of care with a 6 inch gash in their forehead and a black eye. I came here for therapy after a hospital visit. Therapy was decent. Everything else was simply terrible. Some did try to help. Others did not and were extremely condescending. Talked to me like I was hard of hearing and had dementia. I felt like I needed to fight for the most basic things. Food constantly late, not good about 75% of the time. Therapy often arrived when I was starving. Being extremely hungry was constant and made me very anxious. Couldn't watch much TV in my room. Many channels "out". I'm literally exhausted ... read more
