We eat there often. Best enchiladas! Fresh squeezed lemonade, coconut cream pie, peach pie...yum!
We had a great time on Mother's Day. The food, service and atmosphere were a perfect way to celebrate with our family and a friend. Thanks to everyone who cheerfully made us feel welcome!
We have been eating at El Gallo since they first opened (the late 60's or early 70's.) Joe and Juanita Herrera and their sweet family are not only wonderful folks, they are wonderful cooks. In my opinion, they make the ONLY authentic TexMex in Fredericksburg, and probably this side of Austin and San Antonio. In addition, daughter Annisa's pies are to die for.
I've been eating at El Gallo since they were in Fredericksburg a hundred years ago. It's the best Mex restaurant I've eaten at. The food is all fresh and made by hand. They have the best Guacamole in Texas! I love it, just wish they were open more frequently, and served beer. If you're looking for fancy, this ain't your place, but it's a must try!!!

Best Tex-Mex in the Hill Country. We've loved it for 30 years.
