If you have not tried El Comal - or haven't been there since they switched to table service - you are missing out! The quality of the food is head and shoulders above 90-95% of restaurants in Mobile. We go there several times a week for the quality, consistency, huge menu including smash burgers for anyone in the party not in mood for Mexican. They have tamales! An excellent option! The food and service were great and the atmosphere is fantastic!
Went on recommendation of my niece. Pleasant atmosphere, super service by our waiter Riley (who was taking care of our 10 plus three other booths!) and good food with large servings. This place has sun porch dining and a nice large bar area. Family friendly, nice selection of menu items and drinks. Riley kept the chips coming. I recommend this restaurant and will revisit when we are in Mobile.
For a place that’s not ever very busy, especially on a Sunday evening after church, you would think that taking care of the few customers they get would be their priority. It’s unfortunate because the food is great but getting seated and them just not coming back to take a drink or appetizer order or even acknowledge that they’ve walked by your table 10 times while you’re waiting is kind of crazy.
In a severely oversaturated market, this restaurant does its best to stand out and in my opinion……… it truly succeeds. I went to this restaurant at 7 o’clock on a Wednesday to my surprise, there was almost no one inside. I ordered the pastor fajitas and a frozen margarita picture that I split with my friend.
