Awesome service, food This place is great. The food, I can't think of anything I've tried that hasn't been great. I love their churros, especially. They have great queso, too. The service is always stellar, and the price is great, especially for the quality. The only negative is that sometimes they have a performer who "karaokes" and though she's okay, it is sort of annoying to listen to that while eating.
Great food, wonderful service, feels like home. Love the combination plates and grilled menu. The bar is full service. On Friday nights 7pm on they have a great guitar duo that play. The prices are low and the food is wonderful, I have never been disappointed. They have booths on each side of the dining room and tables in the center to handle any number of people in your party.
I really like this place. We came yesterday and they have closed down. The location is opening a wings and margarita place soon.
The Best MexicanFood Hands Down – This is by far the best Mexican food me and my family have ever had. Our waiter is Salvador & he knows what we want before we sit down. Chile con queso, cheese enchiladas, fajitas are our favorites. We have our picture on the wall behind the front register. We have been going to El Colonial for over 15 years. We have been dining at El Colonial for over 12 years. The top shelf margaritas are the best in the area. We always request Salvador, even though the other waitstaff are great too. They have recently added a bar in the back of the restaurant with flat screen TVs. "Try it, you'll like it!"
Fantastic Food – We were hungry for mexican food one night and, with our car in the shop, our choices were limited to what we could walk to. We had went to Taqueria Arandas, but were not happy with our experience there, so we ended up going to El Colonial, where my wife had eaten before. I have to say, it was outstanding!
