RecommendedI was skeptical about El Chivito, and had zero expectations-but the food was AMAZING!!!! The aguas frescas were fresh, the torta bread was so soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, the salsas were full of flavor and the taco suave de carnitas was my favorite! We ordered everything on the menu, and everything was delicious. Not to mention the customer service. The owner and his wife made us feel like we were visiting their home and they were feeding us. Definitely a spot to visit in San Antonio.
I absolutely love this place. if you are looking for authentic comfort food from Guadalajara, this is the place to go. There are not many places in the US that serve a torta ahogada, and they make it so good here. I live in Corpus Christi but I have to make an effort to come here when visiting San Antonio. It's that good. Provecho!

Excellent, quality, fresh, tasty, authentic hinestyle recipes of tortas, empanadas, tacos, aquas frescas & even Paraiso fruit bars‼ All was super delicious‼The husband & wife owners team was humble & enthusiastic. They made us fee just like we were at home‼ Will be back for sure‼

The food is *****A-Mazing!!! I discovered this hidden gem while I was waiting for my car to get an oil change next door at firestone.. Moises the awesome owner was outside conversing with customers and right away was very patient in going over the menu with me and when he brought my food out he recommended the sauces to use.. he was very kind and while the seating was outside I stayed cool with the mister fans... he was very quick to stay on top of anything I needed while I was there... highly recommend... ill definitely be ... read more
