About this business
History Established in 1910. Founded in 1910 by Peter P. Kanai in the McKees Rocks Area of Pittsburgh. In 1923 he was persuaded to open a branch in the "Run" of Greenfield. Our current location was purchased in 1943. After a year of remodeling the funeral home opened in 1944 with Edward P. Kanai Sr. as Funeral Director. In August of 1968 he became ill and passed the reins to Edward P. Kanai Jr. who is still active along with his son Edward P. Kanai III. Very Rude – I am not from the Greenfield area and I was on my way to the Kanai Funeral Home on a terribly cold and snowy night. I tried to reach family by cell phone that was already there but they could not hear their phones. I had a google map i was reading and it had the phone number of the funeral home so I called and asked for directions. I was talked to so rudely by the person who answered. Kanai Funeral, which is located in the heart of the Greenfield Community, is a fine and well-to-do establishment that has been serving families for decades.
