The Edgewater Inn is a small pizza tavern in the heart of Edgewater, and for many years been one of the highlights of the town. The Inn, most famous for its pizzas and family atmosphere, has graced the neighborhood for over fifty years. The owners, Ben and Josephine DiPietro started the business back in 1953. The Inn, now located on the southwest corner of 25th Avenue and Ames was initially located at the building due west of it's present address. In 1957, the building next door went up for sale. nice place to relax by yourself or with friends – I lived in Edgewater for 10 years, so I am a little bias. Even though their pizza in my opinion is alright, overall it is pretty good. one thing I do like is the scooners of beer. if you are a beer lover, you will understand. it not the bright cheery place a lot of the restaurants are now a days. in fact you might call it a little rustic. to me that is appealing. the staff have always been nice to me. on a friday night, it is warm and inviting. gives you that warm and fuzzy f... read more
Usually great pizza, sometimes only fair – When the pizza is good, its great. On the occasional bad days, its barely average. Same with the service - sometimes fast and friendly. Sometimes both you and the staff are sorry you're there. Mikey's on 38th is slightly better, but slower and more pricy. I've been eating there for well over forty years. When I was a kid, it was consistantly great and service was always wonderful. The old man did everything right. Just not what it used to be. But, all things considered, still the be... read more
I don't get it... – People either seem to love or hate this place. I don't know if they have bad days, or if certain people just have different expectations for pizza, but so far, Edgewater has the best pizza I've had in a while. As a San Francisco native, I have had access to a lot of good pies, and wasn't too impressed with Denver's selection until I found Edgewater! Great divey atmosphere with cheap booze and the killer Howdy pizza - big sausage and great crust that holds up. I love the heated patio, and it beats the heck... read more
Good Pizza... BAD Service – The pizza is good depending on the mood of the chefs.... The service is about as good as a disgruntled employee at a fast food joint.
chef robert erickson c.m.c – I am a certified master chef. my family was and still lives in denver. back in the day we had some really nice italian places in north denver. thats where my mom grew up. we have been going to the edgewater since i was six. if any of you quote on qoute so called food people or as i call you, food snobs, have any idea! respect the place you moved here from or go back to california or wherever your from. hey foodies, wolf gang puck and i had pizza there next to sloans lake about a year ago and we b... read more
POOR SERVICE – Pizza is GREAT! Service need ALOT of work, the waitresses were not very experienced. The waitresses were not customer freindly.
Want poor tasting, unauthentic pizza? Go here! – Being that I was born and raised on some of the best pizza in the country, I can honestly say that Edgewater pizza is not even worth trying. The dough lacks any taste, the sauce has no flavor, and the toppings were skimpy to say the least. Laugh if you must, but I'd take a $5 frozen Freschetta Italian style pepperoni over an Edgewater pizza anyday.
The Best in Denver – I was born in Denver and have been to them all and believe me when I say this is the place for pizza, try the Howdy, you will never try another owner and help are great. Fred
Throwback ZA – This place is great!! The pizza is amazing and the atmosphere makes this place one of kind! While sipping on your scooner (goblet of beer) read a little history about the little town called edgewater. Make sure you put your name on the the birthday list...to recieve your free scooner on your b-day. Free bus to the bronco games means no worries about driving or parking. If you are looking for great pizza and excellent calazones...this is your next place to try
