the wait time for the emergency department is ridiculously long plus unnecessary test to waste time and insurance money. it's all a scam. We had to leave after being there for 5 hours! RecommendedWhen I think of staff that is caring and welcoming, I think of Vidant Roanoke chowan hospital. They have supported me through nursing school by awarding me scholarships and have delivered my two healthy babies. I can't think of a better hospital to work in or receive care in.
They were quick and efficient. Very friendly. Well organized.
My sister, a vulnerable female, was assaulted as a patient at Vidant Pitt. I came to visit and she had a black eye. The staff said it was a “freak accident”. She was moved from her unit as I was informed by the Physician last week. After driving from Raleigh today to visit her, staff are now telling me she is not in the hospital. The clinical administrator was of no help and acted as if I was a troublemaker. I was called by my doctor and told that my pancreatic enzymes were way high and to go to the ED and tell them my dr sent me. I got there at 6 PM and sat in the lobby until 10 PM before going to a room. I asked about my dr sending me and they didn't say anything. They took blood after a couple of tries and started an IV. the nurse gave me 3 meds in my IV. one of the meds caused me to have pain my chest and difficulty breathing. I asked the nurse what he did.
