Visiting the equestrian center and the Mary Field Horse & Heritage Museum was the highlight of my Connecticut visit! Mrs. Patricia Kelly was generous enough to open the Mary Field museum for my friend and I since our visit was short and we had traveled so far. She was very knowledgeable about the history of black cowgirls and cowboys. Even though I volunteered at the Black American West Museum aka the cowboy museum in Denver, I still learned more about the contributions of African American cowboys and cowgirls. My partner and I had a great time today during a riding lesson with our instructor, Brianna, and her assistants. As a beginner rider, I was nervous, but the experience was so fun and memorable. We would definitely recommend, and we will be back!
