Eastern Ways Lion Dancers are the students from the studios. In order to participate, the students are required to pay for the Lion Dance instruction, and then donate their time and gas to attend public events and perform, while the studio gets paid, sometimes huge bucks, for the event. The students are given water and gatoraide, even if the event lasts all day, but not compensation - not even for gas. Business practices are designed for maximum owner profit.
Me any my family have studied at Eastern Ways Martial Arts for over 8 years. We have had excellent instruction from every instructor my family members have worked with. Like all groups that try to build a community, there is a desire to have members attend major events such as banquets and tournaments and I can personally testify that Ive never felt over pressured to attend, its an option there for the students. The instructors are great with the kids. My son enjoys the group classes and not only is he having a good time but is learning to follow direction, personal discipline and respect for himself and others.
The best! I have trained with Eastern Ways for 10 years, and I wouldnt train anywhere else. They have it all: private instruction, lots of group classes and a great staff. The facilities are all the best ever!Anyone who doesnt agree- try paying belt fees, testing fees, buying new uniforms and paying for "special testing preparation" anywhere else. They will cost you a fortune!I know someone who is a 4th degree black belt in TKD after about 7 years- and so is their teacher! Why isnt their teacher training and advancing? Where... read more
Great school! The system is traditional and the lineage is traceable all the way to the founder and the Shaolin Temple. What they offer is both rare and effective. Instruction is top notch and classes are abundant. Eastern Ways emphasizes private lesson teaching as the basis for their curriculum. With such a complex art, this method of teaching is extremely helpful and allows for maximum growth under the instructors watchful eye.
