I wish I could remember the techs name I had on Christmas Eve, she had tattoos on her hands. There was a line of people waiting for her when she opened the door that had me anxious about the wait time. She moved along so fast with a smile on her face the entire time. The service I received this morning was absolutely disgusting. I understand the stress of being busy and alone at the job but there is no reason why this should be taken out on the patient. The treatment, or lack there of, I received was very unprofessional. Perhaps the woman I dealt with today needs a class on empathy and how to talk to people because her behavior was deplorable leading me to leave the lab unable to drop off my specimen.
I had a test to drop off for processing. I did not need blood drawn, just to drop a test off. I purposefully did not want to drop off at 7:00am, on my way to work, because I know that is a very busy time in laboratories. Yesterday, Tuesday November 18th, I stopped at the office at 1050 Warwick Avenue at 2:55. Online it says this office closes at 3:30, but when I arrived I saw a sign that said it closes at 3:00. I don’t necessarily think it’s the phlebotomist’s fault. They work alone, no receptionist to even handle basic phones/paperwork- so I’ve been sitting here for an hour and one person has completed the whole process and I’m highly concerned that this lobby full of people (all waiting since before me) is going to be kicked out for her lunch and there won’t be time when she gets back to get us all done.
