I'll start by saying I think Dr. Chithalen is a nice guy. But I don`t like the sales pitch I get everytime I see him. He plays down `regular` treatment and pushes the latest (and most expensive) technology as the best option, and when I say `no` he quickly regains confidence in the standard, cheaper choice. I also can`t understand why he is so eager to call his office `green` when he regularly sends multiple page newsletters by land mail! I told them I did not have dental insurance. They charged me over $350, for a consultation fee. They still charged me regular rates when I had a basic cleaning. Let alone, they charged me $120 for an emergency consultation to receive a prescription. I will be returning to my old dentist.
Always starts my appointment on time. Staff are especially knowledgeable, patient and kind (special thanks to Lori). There is always great education from Dr. Chithalen about the current health of my teeth and mouth and he takes the time to review procedures and answer questions. He thoroughly goes over pain/anxiety management and listens to my concerns.
I was very nervous about going to the dentist. I met with a staff member at the beginning of my appt. which was scheduled for 8:30 am. I was asked if I had issues with anxiety(yes), with the cost (yes), and with having to miss time at work for the appt. (yes) I was then sent to the waiting room to wait until 9:00 as the dentist wasn't there yet! I left after waiting for 1/2hour as I was anxious and missing time at work! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!!
Dr. Chithalen is an excellent Dentist! He was extremely professional, friendly and skilled as he worked to extract my little guy's abscessed tooth. He explained to my son everything about what had happened and what needed to be done. He demonstrated concern and was extremely gentle in his words and actions. I was very impressed with his staff and with every step of the procedure. Everyone in the office was pleasant, helpful and concerned with making my son's experience a good one. Thanks Dr. Chithalen!!
I have a dentist phobia (due to a dentist in my childhood), and so I'm very leery of going to just anyone. I have full dental benefits, but the fear puts me off going to one. The website appealed to me, as did the location, it's in an old century home in Central Hamilton. The staff is courteous and helpful, and Dr Chithalen is very knowledgeable.
