I had been in the ER on more than one occasion with 12-13 hour long vomiting episodes and horrible abdominal pain. Previously had been treated with meds and sent home. The last time I came in with same issues they called Dr. McDermott in. He got right to solving the problem, having me admitted and tests run. He was very thorough, caring, and professional. He had me treated and feeling better very quickly! He checked in on me several times while in the hospital. Best surgeon in East Texas!

Dr. McDermott is a great doctor; he repaired my hernia! He cares about his patients and provides great post-operative care. I would highly recommend anyone to him!
Recently had appendectomy by Dr. McDermott. Time from arrival in ER on Saturday and being seen was less than an hour, tests done in an hour, set up for first slot and in OR within 2 hours. Scope procedure, healed well. Good bed side manner Caring Spent time to explain things Would use him again or recommend him to anyone
Dr McDermott is a fine doctor. He cared for my mother who had an acute gall bladder infection and was hospitalized. He treated her infection agressively with an appropriate level of antibiotics and helped her recover well without an immediate need for gall bladder surgery. In the exam process, he detected a far worse, undiagnosed heart condition that needed attention. He swiftly made sure she got the best cardaic care and he answered all our questions with care and compassionate attention. :)
Dr. McDermott is a great Doctor from my experience being his patient. He's very nice, answered all my questions I had and I had no complications after my surgery. I would definitely recommend him to anybody!
Dr. McDermott was awesome, I would definitely use him again if I ever needed surgery again!
