When I came here, the workers had no gloves on. And the floors were very dirty and so are the tables. I asked the worker for less ice, and whenever I got it handed to the whole cup was filled with ice, and I specifically told her that I Wanted a little bit or even none. When I told her this she offered to take the drink back and I thought she was gonna make me a new one, but instead she took off the cap and took off half of the drink and there was no cold foam left which I ordered And payed for.

The only national chain on 108th Street. The rest—Rite Aid, Chase Bank —have moved on; it sits in the nexus of former Soviet worlds with a cosmopolitan flavor whereas others are parochial. All flock here because, as Nina Simone once sang, we all “want a little sugar in our bowl,” especially in these times. My late mother and I used to advise the staff to replace the milkshakes with Indian mango lassi. This is my morning sanctuary to read for an hour. This is my local Dunkin’ Donuts, there is a woman who works here at night with glasses, who is so rude and unhelpful. I’ve asked for sides of hot fudge (of course I said I would pay for it, but she outright refused acting like it was 14 karat gold )and extra ice or things that I offered to pay for, and she has very rudely told me no, so many times they tell me that they are afraid of their manager, but the attitude and the unwillingness to help is just completely out of this world.
