Larry Duncan originally founded Boat City on Rivers Avenue in 1970. Throughout the years he brought thousands of Lowcountry families to the boating lifestyle. In 1996, Larry's son, Jim, returned to assume the responsibility for the company after a successful engineering career. In 2007, Jim purchased Duncan's Boats, located on the Ashley River in North Charleston.
