Classic quality for Small location! I feel that considering the space, they have great service and a laid back, north-end feel and the breakfast food is MUCH better than chain breakfasts. They have a wonderful outside space, even if it is sprinkly outside. My parents introduced me to the Trolley house, and i've introduced the same to my boyfriend and his parents (all from seattle) and were all impressed with the quality of food. But just remember... CASH (and i think check) ONLY!!!!
Trolley House has gone way down hill . . . Went there today (8/16/2009) with family. Horrible staff/service - extremely slow, rude, and messed up the orders - spilled food on me -twice. Filthy tables, chairs, silverware and glasses - had to fight off many flies the whole time (yes this was inside). I guess the health department never visits . . . Mediocre food and drink. I used to think it was one of the better places in town . . . Do not waste your time and money - nor risk your health. Will not return!
The Trolley House has lost it's appeal The Trolley House used to be a great place to eat breakfast but not so much anymore. My experience with the Trolley House the last two times I've been there shows they have taken a drastic downward turn. As you walk in the front door you are coldly greeted by one of the staff who practically throws a menu at you and gruffly says, "Sit anywhere you want" and then walks off. Only so-so Trolley House is one of those places that I wanted to love. It has a great history behind it, a cute little building, and an old fashioned menu. We went for breakfast and it was only so-so. I was especially turned off by the non-dairy liquid creamer! Yuck? That says cheap, low quality, and it had gone pretty funky. With so many really wonderful breakfast haunts in Boise, I just can't reccomend this one. PROS: history, building CONS: food, service, non-dairy creamer
Local favorite Trolley house is a popular little place off of Warm Springs. If you go for breakfast on Saturday expect a wait. They have a nice patio area where you can wait. The food was good and the prices were fair. I think the draw here is the atmosphere.
We love the Trolley! My entire family loves the Trolley. Probably because it is the best breakfast experience in town. Good ol' down home breakfast food. The pancakes are perfect, the omelets delicious and the coffee is always hot. The staff is top notch and very friendly.
