Remember the old saying “That was as fun as a root canal”? Well, you can forget it now. A few weeks ago I went to my dentist and they said I needed an emergency root canal. My dentist called Dr. Bernstein’s office and they got me in at 7:30pm that same day and did the procedure that night. The staff was excellent, they texted me throughout the day to get everything setup. I had extreme pain in my tooth. I needed a root canal. I called them at about 3:00. Because of my pain, they managed to get me in at 5:30. I arrived and they were so polite and helpful. I have never been treated this well at any medical office. The office staff was amazing. The doctor was amazing. My tooth could not be saved, but the doctor explained my problem completely. All in all, a great place.

He did good work on my tooth. However, he would leave for like 15-20 minutes without warning it would be awhile. He is also quite rough handed. Also, he along with your treats your body like a cadaver. Things were almost entering my nose (long tools) and I had to tell HIM to be aware. Even though had he been a considerate professional, I would not have had to. Will not be back.

Dr. Bernstein worked diligently on two teeth that were having major issues. I just had root canals on these teeth done a few years back in Gainesville but they were not done thoroughly which led to pain and major infections. Dr. Bernstein explained the situation and spent a lot of time fixing previously inadequately worked root canals. I have never seen the complete level of care when working on a tooth.

In my eyes there is only ONE endodontist in Gainesville. What I thought was a sensitive tooth to a filling ended up being two molars that had gone bad, one of which I had no idea, an infection and calcified root with very difficult canals to navigate. Dr. Bernstein was very patient and thorough, we had to do one of them in several stages but the end product was we saved a molar that would have been a real problem down the road. On Tuesday afternoon I saw my regular dentist in Miami with a very painful molar; he advised I needed a root canal. Since I was leaving the next morning on a trip to Orlando and Gainesville, I decided to wait it until at least the following week for the root canal. Dr Bernstein and his staff were absolutely awesome. He explained what he was going to do and what he did. He is very articulate, very confident and an absolute perfectionist. I would rate him a 10 if I could.

The receptionists were kind and understanding. After sitting in the chair for about 5 minutes...The dentist refused to do my root canal because I showed signs of a fear of needles (which I made them aware of before the appointment). It seemed that he didn't care about the necessity of the procedure and has ZERO experience with patients with severe anxiety. The way he acted... you'd think I had bit him! He didn't put 1 finger into mouth before refusing to work. I am very disappointed with this dentist.
