My cousin, our daughters and I had lunch today at the Drying Shed in honor of Easter and my cousin's birthday. From start to finish it was a delightful experience. The restaurant was absolutely charming. We were greeted at the door with a warm and welcoming smile then promptly seated in a comfortable booth. (I kind of liked to have a bit of privacy). great place for a slow relaxing evening! Although the service here is slow..the food is great! My friends and I go here here for excellent stuffed shrimp knowing that we will have a good 2 - 3 hours to relax and chat!!! And the servers don't mind at all!
** BAD PLACE ** DO NOT BOOK EVENTS HERE!!! Great food, terrible, awful, BAD service!! We had a whole party planned in 2 weeks!!! Owner said we could have two rooms. Now owner says she over booked and we have to cram 75 people into 1 room (made for 30-40 people). Terrible terrible customer service! We have to move our whole party within 2 weeks!! Awesome Brunch!! This is a huge banquet facility with a bar and evening entertainment in a separate room. They provide light music with a DJ on the weekends. They have a great Sunday brunch on special occasions, but get there early. The champagne brunch crowd books early and stays late. The food ranges from fresh seafood to their prime rib and steak specials. The facility is available for special events such as weddings, anniversary parties, etc.
If you're in Berryessa/Alum Rock... For some reason Berryessa-Alum Rock is devoid of "nice" restaurants, so it's nice to have the Drying Shed there. It's..."nice". Celebrated a family birthday there with a pleasant, not-too-elegant lunch and found it pleasant. Not enough personality to want to return again and again, but when there's no other choice you'll be pleased with finding the Drying Shed.
BEST Great Restaurant Food was really good and when I went it was a Buffet so I ate until I got full..Will For sure come back!! :]
NOT MUCH TO TALK ABOUT! Had a birthday brunch there today (11/2). The service was awful! We were a party of 10 and were seated at a round table with the most awful folding chairs. Even my 9 and 11 year olds complained about the chairs. The angle of the seat caused one to HAVE TO sit back/recline so far that the table was out of reach. Very odd and uncomfortable angle! The worst place ever! AVOID!!!!! AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!!! This place is out to con you out of your money! The owner Ed and his staff are rude and a bunch of liars. They moved my friend out of the banquet room into the restaurant area 3 days before her wedding. They then proceeded to tell her that she had signed up for the dingy, dirty, dark restaurant area. Avoid The Place I cannot believe the service I had the first and only time I was there. The service at this place is very poor. While I was trying to have brunch the waitress must have came by our booth about 3 times to ask if we were done eating, all the while never coming back to even refill our glass of orange juice.
