I saw Dr. Dropkin several times as he diagnosed a problem. His records were sent to a Florida doctor who praised the quality of his work. I am so pleased with his skills as a diagnostician, enabling me to arrange surgery with this highly regarded doctor in Florida. I could not schedule this surgery in Albany due to the saline shortage, which is not an issue in Florida. I sincerely thank Dr. Dropkin for his excellent work!

I had a similar experience to Anna Willis listed below in the reviews, but not identical. Dr. Dropkin performed a D&C on me with no sedation... only 800 mg of ibuprofen. I was writhing in pain on the table. He asked me if I wanted the nurse to hold my hand in response to my pain. While he may have been genuine with that response, it came off as condescending and void of empathy. My body completely sweat out dealing with the pain. I was nauseous and lost all color. He is very cold and doesn't take the time to listen to you. I really don't know why anyone would recommend him. Just because you're busy doesn't mean the patient in front of you isn't. We have busy lives too and take time out of our work-day to come and see you. My time is also valuable.

He's very straightforward and expects people to know what they are getting into before they arrive at his practice. I wouldn't call him bitter, as in my opinion he has a good bedside matter when the situation is non-standard, but he is very to-the-point and isn't there to hold your hand for routine stuff - for some people that may even be a benefit when dealing with something traumatic. If I could give this doctor no stars I would. This is my first pregnancy, everything is new to me. I went here ignoring bad ratings, because we all have bad days. DO NOT DO THAT. He was extremely cold, rude, dry, and plain insensitive. He just kept on the fact that I’m choosing not to breastfeed. I’ve NEVER felt so small in my life. During PAP smear he said nothing, just the benefits of breastfeeding. Dr. Dropkin is a wonderful caring doctor. I switched to him for my second pregnancy. I also have a BMI of 40, and he has been nothing but kind and sensitive when discussing suggestions to help lose weight, prevent weight gain/fluid retention, etc. These reviews of him being nasty just seem impossible. He truly enjoys what he does and it shows in the attentive care he provides. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for an appointment, and usually don't wait for more than a few.

Hey Everyone, I have been Dr. Dropkin’s Patient for over 25 years!!! He delivered both my children. I had complications in one pregnancy and hard deliveries....I have had breast cancer and Ovarian cancer. And who was by my side that whole time? Dr. Dropkin and his wonderful team!
