Disgusting. Gross. A welfare motel. The owners are incredibly unprofessional, rude, bed bugs. Outdated drab rooms. Low rent people. Do yourself a favor don’t stay at the drifter motel. He kicked us out of the room for having our 60 year old mother in law over for a day. We have 2 babies under 2 and asked us to leave at 11 o’clock at night so he can “prove a point and show us” hahaha. Lou wants to be the alpha male, he’s really a coward who won’t talk to you in person. He’s a little girl.
This is our third year staying at the Driftwood Motel. We love the full kitchen, two rooms and close proximity to Cape Henlopen. Everything is clean and thoughtfully outfitted for a family traveling together planning to cook in-room. Full stove and fridge, microwave, and basic kitchen supplies. These accommodations focus on functionality and efficiency (hence the name) and do not boast the opulence (or price point) of a resort condo-- but that is a suitable compromise for needs. we were in Deleware for the race at Dover. called them the same day to get a room instead of driving back to PA because of the cancelled race. very accomodating. we always come here when we go to the shore. clean, cozy and a home away from home. close to great eating places and the owners and staff are fantastic.

First time staying here and we were very pleasantly surprised! We were in Lewes to look at a property for sale and just wanted an overnight place to sleep. The room was large with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. The decor is dated but it was super clean and well maintained, the staff was great, allowing us to check in early. Will consider staying again if the need arises. Grid job Driftwood we were super pleased!
