Dr. Tomes did my neck surgery back in Dec. 2011. A ACDF with graft/fusion. The first Dr. I went to basically told me it wasn't that bad and refused to do anything. Unfortunately he did my sister's neck and back. She lived the rest of her life in severe pain. Dr. Tomes was very caring. It took about 4 months before I went back to work. I feel like the OT/PT/SLP I have been doing it since I had. My surgery was because of Dr. Tom’s. I wish I could redo the last six months of my life and not have the surgery and try for radiation and the chemotherapy. He caused a mini stroke in me and will not stand up to that. I have one ear that is deaf I have one eye that is not normal and that arm and leg on that side, her weak and have a mind of their own I have used. Dr Tomes is amazing. He was able to get my appointments in a timely manner. When it comes to actually solving the issue through insurance approved surgery, however, be prepared to be limited in motion and in severe pain for several weeks before his staff will get you in for surgery. Clearly, he is overloaded. His staff does not appear to care to be bothered. Find a team that actually cares.
