THE UTILITIES ARE CRAZY STAY AWAY 200+ FOR STEAM 26 FOR TRASH, AND ALL THE BILLS ARE THE SAME FOR MULTIPLE UNITS. To summarize the drake, there are definitely cockroaches and mice on the lower floors. Management doesn’t answer emails and is wildly unprofessional. Multiple log ins to pay rent, electric, open the door and more. The power goes off all the time and so does the fire alarm. Props are given where props are due, the maintenance lead is exceptional and very personable.
This is the most recent statement of the bills in addition to the rent. Steam bills have always been high and I live in a 400sqft studio. The receptionists are kind people and maintenance team does a good job unless it’s a whole building issue where water shuts down for days. The additional bills just don’t make it seem worth it.
Jayla was absolutely wonderful to work with at The Drake. From the very beginning, she was professional, responsive, and genuinely kind. Renters beware... If you ever want anything fixed in these apartments, good luck. They will never get around to it, and then charge *you* for any damages that happen after. Laundry room is always disgusting, rat / mice traps always had corpses in them. Lovely place if you like the stink of decay and mold.
I have lived here for almost two years. While it is an older building with some quirks, it is a lovely community! The front desk folks—in particular Miss Jean in the day and Miss Cheryl in the evening during weekdays—are so helpful! They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I also love the location of the building and my friendly neighbors who have lived in the building for many more years than I have and have gone out of their way to get to know me.
