At this point providers need to be held accountable. Dr Akram came into my appointment clearly without reviewing my complicated PMH and dismissed everything I had stated that happened throughout the years. Dr Akram tells me that I have anxiety… well yes I am diagnosed and on medication for that but of course as a young woman, providers like him very clearly discriminate. The worst experience with a doctor. He made me feel like I caused my own seizures. He was very rude, ignorant and just disrespectful. I was informed/warned that he has made others feel this way as well, but I had to see a neurologist immediately. Sadly, there are arrogant non-empathetic doctors, which is fine, but he was extremely appalling. Thankfully, I found another neurologist who is kind, caring and takes the time to listen. Excellent, diligent in finding a diagnosis and quick to treat. Explains complexities with consideration. Wonderful staff! The office personnel really care. My MS diagnosis would have been much worse had I not been able to talk with them. 🫶
Today, I met Dr. Akram for the first time, and I was greeted by a warm and friendly office atmosphere. The reception staff was incredibly nice and approachable! During my EMG test, Dr. Akram took great care to make me feel at ease. He reassured me that everything would be fine and guided me through each step of the procedure. I found him to be a genuinely humble and down-to-earth person!
My mother has Dementia. Dr Akram did test on her. We need paperwork filled out for her to be accessed. He wants her to come back and do test all over again. He has no bed side manner. Appointments the same questions and out the door. I am not taking my mom back there again.
