After the loss of my husband, I hadn't seen my PCP (Dr.Gao), for 4 years. But when she saw my name, she remembered everything about me. She is very attentive, caring and thorough and reviews the chart before every visit. I think I have the best MD in town! I'm so glad she will be seeing my daughter next month.
I just moved here and needed a new pcp. I received the BSW insurance and found Dr. Ya Gao on the website. I made an appointment. I went to the office and everyone was very nice from the beginning. The nurse explained everything of how it goes. Dr Gao came in and she is very very nice and talked with me and explained about all my medications. She was just very professional and concerned to make sure she knew about my medical history. I really feel very comfortable with her. I'm so glad and excited she's my new PCP!
I had a terrible experience with Dr.Gao. I visited her for an annual physical checkup and she focussed very little on my physical checkup but more on the pain that I complained about. She just asked a few yes or no questions and billed us stating that she treated us for the pain. I requested for a pap smear to be done because of a concern that I explained to her, but she rejected it saying that she does not have to do it now. Overall she was more commercial rather than being a good doctor.
She really listens, is patient and kind. And her medical advice makes good sense.
