As a patient of several years, I always leave Dr. Chopra with a clear status of my glaucoma and options of treatment suited to my case. He also has been very patient with my many questions!
Dr. Chopra is a great doctor, takes his time to check my eyes, takes his time to explain everything and answers all my questions. He also helps to get the earliest appointment that he can get for me. Highly recommend Dr. Chopra if you have any eye problems. My husband could not see clearly suddenly, his original eye doctor says everything is find. Dr. Chopra located the problem.
He will suggest you to proceed with the surgery, but will not explain to you. Instead, he will ask you to google it. what a NICE doctor!!!! He won't spend time to examine your eyes. He only care about $$$. No heart for patient. I cannot believe UCLA will hire him. Very disappointed of my visit.
If I only knew then, what I know now. Not all Doctor's are the same! Some are great and will go the extra mile to make sure their patients are getting the best care and treatment. That's what I have found to be the case with Dr. Vikas Chopra. He's an expert in his field and he has restored at least 75% of my vision in my left eye after a devastating, acute glaucoma episode left that eye blind. Dr. Chopra is a very nice doctor. The glaucoma surgeries he did was so successful that I can read without glasses. My eye pressure went down and keep stable. He saved my visions.
My mom was recently diagnosed with a very complicated case of primary angle closure glaucoma. Over the course of a few weeks we saw several very capable ophthamologists who prescribed a variety of treatments and procedures that did little to relieve the pressure in her eye. When we were eventually referred to Dr. Chopra, his experience in dealing with glaucoma cases was immediately evident. I was referred to Dr. Chopra by my Ophthalmologist due to ongoing eye pressure/glaucoma and inflammation following detached retina surgery. I had seen other specialist and they treated my issues with drops. Following a complete eye exam Dr. Copra told me that I needed surgery to save my vision and to repair the problem. He assured me that he was good at his job and said he wanted to ensure that I had my vision for many years to come which gave me confidence. I recently had complex cataract surgery performed on both eyes by Dr. Chopra. Before my surgery, my vision was 20/40 in my left eye and 20/250 in my right eye with glasses. I had severe astigmatism as well as substantial vision loss due to glaucoma, especially in my right eye. I opted to get the toric lenses which I had to pay for out of pocket. Since the surgery, my vision in both eyes is 20/25 without glasses. It is simply amazing.
Dr. Chopra is fantastic and all of his staff is wonderful! My husband and I both go to Dr. Chopra and we trust him. His demeanor is perfect; he is businesslike, but personable; he is prompt, attentive and answers all questions. Recently Dr. Chopra did a complex Cataract and Trabeculectomy Surgery and saved me from losing sight in my left eye. I am forever grateful for his unparalleled skills. I highly recommend Dr. Chopra.
