I would like the opportunity to respond to the comment offered by the patient with respect to her rectocele repair. The fact of the matter is that the patient was evaluated postoperatively by myself and another physician and was found to have MINIMAL residual rectocele present. Allow me to explain it in layman's terms: Would one expect to have ABSOLUTELY NO WRINKLES after a face lift? Of course not! I would and have recommend Dr Thorton to a number of women. She is very trustworthy and does not treat you like a number or that she does not have time for you. Her and her staff make you feel welcome and Dr Thorton takes the time to talk to you. With her you are not just a number - she cares and that is extremely rare here in Georgia. Dr. Thornton repaired a rectocele on me. After one week I was still having the same problem, and continue to have the same problem. A year later she continued to tell me there was no problem and sent me to see a specialist. A lot of time and money spent as well as a second opinion later, I was told that I still have a rectocele. Once again I went back and she says there is no problem on her end. I tried to speak with her one more time about this with another Doctors notes from my second opinion and she would not speak to me ... read more
She is very knowledgable and helped me understand what was going on with my exam. When I had to have a biopsy, she guided and talked me through every step. She made sure that I remained calm and that I understood what she was doing. Her staff is warm and compassionate and made my visit very relaxed. I recommend her to all of my friends and co workers.
Dr. Thornton's bedside manner is lacking in professionalism and compassion. I strongly recommend not using this doctor.
Dr. Thornton is a wonderful, caring doctor who makes you feel like you are part of the family. She knows her stuff! The entire staff is wonderul.
