I had to have entropion surgrey and was referred to Dr.Lima. She was always professional, considerate and explained the surgery in detail and what to expect during recovery. The staff at her Olney and Columbia offices as well as the surgical center were professional and friendly. The procedure was successful and I recovered without any swelling or bruising. I would highly recommend Dr. Lima.
Dr. Lima is very professional. So if you want someone who jokes around, go elsewhere. She is a very serious person. She did surgery on my eyelids. (Ptosis) I listened to her advice and my eyelids healed quickly. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the amount of time from my appointment until she saw me was about an hour and 15 minutes.
I was scheduled to see Dr. Lima to take a look at my eyes. She mentioned that nothing was wrong. I then try to tell her that my eyes have been bothering me and the symptoms have been getting worse each day which was starting to interfere with work. Seemed like she didn't care and told me to put a warm rag on my eyes. I was so upset because I knew there was something wrong with my eyes. As soon I left I scheduled an appoint with another eye doctor who actually helped me and told me what was wrong
I was referred to Dr. Lima by another eye surgeon whom I respect tremendously. I was disappointed in my visit with Dr. Lima. I found her to be aloof, unprofessional, and disrespectful and left with my problem unresolved. Dr. Lima jotted some instructions on a page filled with text in illegible handwriting that I could neither read nor follow. When I said I could not understand them, she was curt and dismissed me. She also advised me I had a "rosacea face." Very rude. Lacks bedside manner.
From the front-desk staff to the medical technician who took my vitals, I was treated with the utmost respect. Every person introduced herself or himself and addressed me as Mr. Barrett, not David - something that seems to be increasingly rare among people who are meeting you for the first time, who are as many as 30 years younger than you, who do not even ask permission to call you by your first name. Then I met Dr. Lima, and the experience continued.
Dr Lima was extremely kind and very considerate of my fear of surgery. Her compassion and understanding put me at ease. Because of Dr Lima's professionalism and excellent care along with the kindness of her staff, my post-operative recovery was much quicker than I could have imagined.
