Sometimes a psychiatrist tells us things we don't want to hear, but that's why we are there. Dr. Gonzalez was the first doctor who correctly diagnosed me, despite what I wanted to hear. Now that I have stuck with his treatment plan I so much better. I am not anxious or scared like I used to be. His office is extremely private and I have never even seen another patient while I was there. In fact, there is one way in, and another private way to exit so that you don't run into anyone else.
When first walking into the office, I could hear Tomas and his patients speaking clearly while I was waiting my turn. This means other people if coming early to their appointment after me could probably hear me. I consider this a lack of privacy. Tomas angers easily and quickly. He makes assumptions and is very impatient if you disagree. I understand there is a huge need for well trained psychiatrists in the RGV and this one seems hopeful, but please do not be fooled by all of the framed paper on this man’s wall.
Dr. Gonzalez spent plenty of time with me and was able to correctly diagnose me. I never wait long in his office. I had seen another psychiatrist in the Valley for about 5 min only and then after that I only ever got to see the PA, even after waiting for 4 hours at that other office. Dr. Gonzalez is the best therapist I have ever had.
I love that I don't have to wait in a waiting room full of people when I see Dr. Gonzalez. He sees you at your appointment time. I only see him, not a physician assistant.
He is a fantastic listener. He was respectful of my time and of my privacy. I am so glad I found him. He is very different from the other psychiatrists in the Valley. He actually cares about his patients.
