Dr McElrath took the time to explain my diagnosis, what to expect from treatment (following my hysterectomy, which went smoothly with the complications of the cancer). He is straightforward, no sugar coating things which I respect & need. He & his staff were there every step of the way throughout my treatment & any questions that came up along the way. It’s comforting to know there’s someone there for your concerns while you’re going through this difficult time. These people are a blessing to any woman having to face a cance... read more

Dr. McElrath is not a doctor with a warm, fuzzy personality. He is, however, kind and knowledgeable. He operated on me for ovarian cancer this winter and saw me through some difficult times with chemo treatments, a failed clinical trial, and low blood levels. While deciding upon my follow-up care post chemo, I went to Dana Farber for a second opinion. The two specialists I saw there praised Dr. McElrath's surgical ability and told me that he had done everything exactly the way they would have. They also agreed on the treatme... read more

Dr. McElrath was very arrogant, opinionated, and rigid. He recommended more excessive surgery for a situation that tests indicated was likely benign and turned out to be completely benign. I am grateful that I found another highly competent surgeon who performed a very successful, less invasive procedure for which I am completely recovered.

An excellent doctor and very glad I was sent to this office. Very satisfied with all my appointments and surgery. And this is from someone who avoids doctor visits at all costs.

Terrible !- Dr McElrath and this particular group of doctors originally gave my relative several treatment options for the ovarian cancer, then denied the utilization of any those options to her when she experienced further issues with her illness, and she passed away before I could get her to a better doctor and facility. I would stay away from this whole group of doctors if you can!

I was sent to him for a second opinion.i was forewarned that it would be a long appointment. I saw his nurse, nurse practitioner and then him. I felt that he was very thorough in both reviewing my records and examining me. He was straightforward and caring when he dealt with me. He explained everything thoroughly. That thoroughness carried through to all office staff.

Although Dr. McElrath is a bit distant, he has always been forthcoming with information and is very patient with me. His approach to my treatment for endometrial hypoplasia was excellent and I was and am very happy with him. I highly recommend him.

Poor communication, lack of empathy, lack of attention to patient needs are all issues for Dr. McElrath. I found his follow up to surgery and knowledge of my medical record and emerging treatments to be substandard. Over-reliant on nurses to handle medical emergencies.
