This review is not on the doctor, but on the practice. I saw at the GT MedStar site that Dr. Cupps accepts new patients and accepts my insurance. When I called, they told me that he does not accept new patients. They also told me I can't schedule with any of the doctors without them prior reviewing my medical records. After they review, they supposetly will call back to schedule. I am not in any HMO and I select my doctors, often after researching their education, publications and other patients experience. This review is not on the doctor, but his staff. I saw all the high reviews for Dr. Cupps after I noticed he was covered under my insurance. First call... the woman told me he was no longer accepting patients and then she hung up on me. Something about it didn't ring true, so I called back. Another woman answered. Both sounded middle age African-American. She told me I could only see Dr. Cupps if I was referred. I told her I didn't have an HMO, so a referral to a specialist wasn't necessary.
