I went to a consultation appointment with Dr. Thomas Barber. Unlike the last orthopedic surgeon I dealt with, he took the time to actually listen to my concerns and give me full explanations regarding my weight, possible complications of surgery, and what to expect afterwards. As a result, I left my appointment feeling encouraged, not exasperated. I highly recommend UCSF.
Efficient, professional staff, engaging and supportive team. This was in the Berkeley facility. My experience earlier in the SF hospital was markedly different: competent but challenged staff, cold austere setting. Dr. Barber gets very high marks.
