I had an extensive right shoulder labrum injury and I was hesitant to have surgery. Dr Gertel was very patient and thorough and tried everything to avoid surgery. But in the end, it was necessary. Dr. Gertel is a knowledgeable and caring individual who took time to be clear about what was happening during all stages of my recovery from a severely broken shoulder. With the aid of his excellent care, I avoided what everyone else predicted: shoulder replacement surgery.
