Dr. Vasavada was very thorough and I feel confident that I can trust his expertise.
I was hospitalized for the first & only time for major depression & suicide attempt. Monday, I met Dr. Vasavada who was the hospital psychiatrist. Due to hypomania, I freely told him everything from childhood abuse & neglect to marital problems. Not only was he overly concerned w/ my insurance coverage which was paying for inpatient for at least a week, but he judged me for my marital problems. This guy is a freakin' joke! and his staff is cold and not helpful. Everything is your fault. Your fault the pharmacay lost your prescription, your fault insurance does not pay. The worst was when he explained all is does is prescribe; if I wanted someone to talk with he would reccommend someone!
I am very pleased as it is next to impossible to find a psychiatrist with the patience to treat someone who has tried nearly everything and had side effects or no help from almost everything. While he hasn't worked any miracles, and neither have I, he listens, doesn't make me feel overly hurried, let's me have input into treatment and I am very happy with all that. I don't want his schedule more full, but I highly recommend him.
