My son had a headache so this Dr referred him to a Neurologist. While I understand that the source of headache needs further investigation, the neurology clinic appointment was 5 months out and my son had untreated migraines during g that period. It wasn’t helpful to pay for a problem visit and be handed a sheet with Neurologist names who may not accept my insurance either.
The wait to see this Dr was very long, and it turned out to be a very short and impersonal appointment. His dietary advice wasn’t helpful bc my teenager has braces which are difficult to clean.. The staff also don’t recall anything about my kids; the medical assistants and Dr both read the questions directly off the computer screen. I would rather see a computer actually to save time bc nothing new or helpful was gained from visiting in person.
Dr. Patel is an outstanding pediatrician! My son saw him for years, but he's now too old for pediatrician. Dr. Patel is very thorough, great bedside manner, gives lots of info about illnesses, & patiently answers all my questions. He's very knowledgeable & knows when referral to specialist is needed. He was named 2016 Pediatrician of the Year (from all the docs in the Texas Childrens Hospital clinics). Very highly recommend Dr. Patel!!
Both of my kids have been patients of Dr. Patel since birth. He always talks the kids like they're people, not little idiots. He explains everything before he does anything (look in ears, listen to heart). I am so glad to have Dr. Patel as my kids doctor.
Dr Patel is a very good doctor, very patient and answer all question we have (usually we write a lot of questions for every appointment and he never look like impatient, he answers all of them). Also, his staff are very professional. Every time I have a question, I call the office, leave a message for Dr Patel and one of the nurses call me back really quick! I definitely recommend him!
