Dr. Burgess’ entire staff is friendly, helpful & maintain CDC Covid-19 precautions. Each have answered any questions I might ask & have not seemed annoyed to do so. Dr. Burgess & assistants have insured that my macular degeneration eye injections are PAINLESS & without complications for almost ten years. I am still independent & driving thanks to God, Avastin & the Eye Institute staff! A new patient need not fear going to an appointment.
Dr. Burgess is top notch! Answers all questions completely! Excellent patient concern! His facility, Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute, is a large facility, but is one of the more well run and efficient providers I have ever received care from!

Wonderful surgeon, great caring staff at both offices, explained it all clearly & allayed my fears about retinal detachment surgery. Still healing but feeling a lot better. Follow ups carefully monitored & I feel that I’m in great hands! Would highly recommend.

On Wednesday, September 22, 2016, I was diagnosed with a large retinal tear in my right eye. My primary care eye doctor recommended that I immediately go to your facility for specialized treatment. She recommended Dr. Burgess. An appointment was set up and Dr. Burgess did a thorough exam of my condition, fully explained the procedure and recovery, and immediately scheduled me for surgery. It was exceptionally successful
I was referred to Dr. Burgess by my Opthamologist. Dr. Burgess took the time to properly assess and monitor my case before recommending surgery. I obtained a second opinion. The consulting physician agreed with Dr. Burgess's diagnosis and recommendation of surgery. Dr. Burgess was very accommodating. He performed the surgery on days that coincided with my schedule. The operation was performed at a location that was clean and specially designed for eye operations. The surgery was successful.
Dr.Burgess took care of my father,Augustine K., for many years.He was both compassionate and knowledgeable.I would recommend him to anyone needing a specialist for the eyes.The office staff was also very kind.
