Ophthalmologist preferred Since my insurance allows me to go to an ophthalmologist, that is who I see for complete eye examinations VS. an optometrist. I was incorrectly diagnosed for an infection by an optometrist, which led me to believe that they do not have enough training. This ophthalmologist is friendly and personable, so is his office staff.
