I am not sure what some of these other reviews are talking about. I found Dr. Johnson and Annandale Smiles to be the best dental office that I have ever been to. It is clean and state of the art. The staff treated me with care and respect. Plus they are open on Saturday.
Dr. Johnson has been my dentist since he took over the practice from Dr. Daniels (in the late 80's if I remember correctly). He is a kind and caring professional with outstanding skills and a confident manner. Other dentists who have seen his work (out of town emergency type stuff, oral surgeons) always commented on my "excellent dental care". We recently moved to Alexandria, Va. and were looking for a comprehensive dental practice. When I called for an appointment. was able to get an appointment without delay for me and my 13 year old son without delay. He is very professional and always take the time to explain our care. His staff is very courteous and highly professional. They always make us feel comfortable and like part of their family. We would highly recommend Dr. Johnson to others.
I've been seeing Dr.Johnson for 5yrs.I happily pay out of pocket for my treatment.After the initial visit with xrays,pics,etc.I find the rates reasonable and comparable to other high quality dentists.Their service is better than any other I have gone to.I can schedule/reschedule an appt at the drop of a hat.Once I arrive I have never waited longer than 5 minutes. Before making an appointment I asked if they could accommodate my need to only have dental X-rays every 2 years instead of yearly due to previous excessive radiation exposure. I was assured that it wouldn't be an issue. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was told that Dr. Johnson wouldn't put that verbal agreement into writing. Since the American Dental Association only recommends dental x-rays every 2 to 3 years for those without significant dental problems and I fall in that category, this concerns me that they appear mor... read more
First be aware who’s writing the review, it looks people working in this place. As for me I had very bad experience going there (first and last one) watch out for the ambush: once you they start working they bring a paper to sign trying to sell you something right there. And do not sign the paper that you agree to pay the difference in case you have insurance….5 minutes 160 dollars for just X-ray and pictures!!!! 5 minutes X-Rau and picutes only for 160 Dollrs!!!!! amazing way to gain money
Worst dentist ever! Don't go here if you want reasonable treatment, good care, and a competent dentist . Dr. Johnson is rude and rough. I looked him up, and he doesn't belong to the local dental society. Why not? Very ,very, expensive also. Doesn't work with you and your insurance at all. Uncaring staff. Stay away!
Dr. Johnson has a very calm and gentle manner and is good about explaining his treatment. The staff takes good care of you, has always been able to fit me and my family in when there have been dental emergencies, and there have been absolutely no problems with billing. The practice is very "techonology-forward" as well.
Awesome dentist, Dr. Johnson! He is very gentle and calm which relaxes you. The staff is extremely friendly and works with your needs.
