Dr. Berckes is a quack. His beside manner is absolutely horrible. His ability to treat you as an individual with individual needs is not in his vocabulary, so to speak. If you are lucky enough to see him and not his PA, who is equally as bad, he only knows how to treat people with disrespect and does not talk with them, he talks at them, barks would be a better description, and believes that you should ask no questions and makes you feel you are stupid. Read most reviews!
Having chronic back pain in my lower back (herniated disks, arthritis, etc.) went to Dr Berkes out of desperation, to avoid surgery. His calm manner, professional and effective treatment, exercise and weight loss has helped be to return to a normal flexibility and life, without surgery. An old fashioned doctor who fully up to date on treating chronic pain conditions.
Dr. Berkes diagnosed and resolved my radiating leg pain I had been living with uncomfortably for years. I can walk without pain and enjoy my golf game!
Called to schedule an appointment. Was told I needed to call the insurance company to find out coverage, etc., referral procedure. Then I would need to call my primary doctor and have them fax over notes prior to any appointment. Not sure what NOTES were needed - receptionist could not take the time to elaborate. Rushed me off call. It is a shame too. I had been a very satisfied patient previously. Now I'm looking for someone to help me, not keep me from getting help.
His demeanor is gruff/very condescending. Does not listen to patient information, finishes sentences, and implies you are ignorant. Literally told me I didn't know what I was talking about, relating to a prior MRI scan location. He blamed the government for not receiving my test results and told me if you think it's bad now, just wait til next year! I was handed a pre and post procedure instruction sheet and was told you need to read, study, and follow this. He was a bully. I wont go back
