I wasn’t expecting to give birth in Pittsburgh, but a family emergency brought me here unexpectedly. I’m so grateful that Dr. Beck was able to squeeze me in as a new patient on short notice. I have never had a more uncomfortable experience with a doctor than I had with Dr. Beck today. I highly do not recommend. She was extremely dismissive and argumentative, especially as I shared my own medical history. She continued to argue and told me that I have done IVF. I have never done IVF and she could easily see that if she had taken the time to read my chart and records. I had to repeat myself 5 times that I have not done IVF and she still didn’t listen. She is knowledgeable, but dismissive. In my notes she wrote about things “we talked about” but in fact did not. She questioned my doctors from my first pregnancy who I dearly trust and thank for keeping my baby safe and healthy. She kept referring to my anxiety as depression (the two are very different). I don’t know if she was having a hard day or was just in a hurry, but the appointment was rushed and ended quickly. I gave three stars because I do believe she could be great, but just not for me moving forward.
